Wanted Part-Time Bookseller / Sales Assistant

Hours: Saturday 12:30-5pm

We are currently looking for a part-time Bookseller / Sales Assistant to join Castlegate Books. Duties include opening and closing of the store, cash handling, accepting deliveries (including lifting boxes), stock replenishment, serving at the till and maintaining a tidy store.

Previous book selling experience is desirable, although we do consider applicants who have customer service experience gained in other retail environments.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:

- Good customer service with a friendly, helpful attitude at all times

- Good computer skills

- Strong communication skills

- Willingness to help customers to find books and to provide recommendations

- Enthusiasm for and knowledge of books and literature

- The ability to maintain high standards of display to ensure the shop is well presented

- The ability to use your own initiative

From creating displays to helping out at our special events, there will always be plenty of opportunity to use your initiative.

There is the option of occasional additional hours available on other days to cover special events or absences.
