A definitive collection of railway posters showcasing the history of poster development during the past 120 years. Written in association with Swann Galleries in New York, we take a journey across the United States from the Eastern Seaboard to the Pacific Coast. The result is a stunning artistic guide to American destinations and their railway poster heritage.

Richard Furness was born in East Shropshire in 1946, and railways have been a life-long interest. He is a professional engineer with Honours, Fellowships and medals awarded for his work in fluid dynamics, including a doctorate. The books were intended as a retirement project, but have snowballed in popularity. Volume 1 was voted Scotland's Non-Fiction Book of the Year in 2009 and the others are already critically acclaimed.
